About Us

Love cake is all about great cakes. We make creative and beautiful cakes, bakes and pastries and love experimenting with unusual flavour combinations (see below).

Every single cake, bake, biscuit and pastry we sell is hand-crafted and baked in small batches in our small cottage kitchen on the Cawdor Estate in the Highlands. We do not use any mixes – everything is made from scratch using only natural ingredients.

Our eggs are free range from local farms, our flour is milled in Kirkcaldy, and our fruit is from Black Isle Berries or Wester Hardmuir Fruit Farm, and we use only Scottish Butter. We take the provenance of our ingredients extremely seriously.

Our range changes and develops with the seasons –  from a summer Raspberry and White Chocolate cake to an autumn Bramble and Violet cake, a winter Apple and Honey Cake with Honey Caramel and, finally, a spring Rhubarb and Rosemary cake. We also make a selection of mini tarts – such as Salted Caramel and Chocolate or Quince and Frangipane – tray-bakes like our famous chunky Chocolate Brownie or Sticky Lemon slice and breakfast pastries like Cinnamon rolls, lemon brioche or cruffins (that heavenly cross between a croissant and muffin).
